i laughed that the black police woman character was such a thankless role.
she did nothing but blankly stare at things the entire season.

bonnie killing perry due to childhood trauma is actually in the book. i’m glad they explored it in the second season.

I can't complain, actually I can. We never got to see Reese Witherspoon throw ice-cream at Meryl Streep and that's a shame.

Meryl Streep’s character and the storyboard were written by Moriarty. The show approached her about it, and she wrote a new novella to be released that provides the basis for the season.

I am extremely sad Madeline didnt have a lot to do this season. I really liked her in the first one. Im very glad that Renata was not butchered.

thank you for this. honestly, the fact that the detective plot got dropped towards the end really irked me. she just made little cameos that did absolutely nothing.

My biggest problem with the season was I couldn't buy anyone feeling guilty about killing Perry lol

Ironic that the show is about women being screwed over, then they screw over the female director. I mean, Kelley, duh?

So many shows that would have eternally lived as classics if they just had one season. True Detective, Prison Break, Stranger Things, now Big Little Lies

While I admit season two did not match the same level of season one, there was still a lot of good in the season. I really liked Renata’s storyline, overall I enjoyed Bonnie becoming more integral because I feel like it needed to happen. And Meryl Streep was a tour deforce. While not as critically acclaimed It was still very entertaining throughout the entire season and I wanted to know what would happen

The biggest problem with TV today is that most shows are written for one season without a real plan for multiple season arcs. Time and time again I start a great new show and am totally enthralled through the first season. Then we get to a 2nd season and you could see they had no idea where to go and the shows jumps off a cliff as the characters and plot points become absurd.

Bloodline is probably the best example of a show that has a fantastic first season and should have stopped there as Season 2 and 3 are utterly ridiculous.

Big Little Lies Season 2 has great performances so it wasn’t worthless. The problem is the overall season 2 arc really goes nowhere and you realize after the finale that it was pretty pointless.

I didn't like Madeline's ending, i feel they could have explored better why she did what she did. Since season 1 the show implied that Madeline wasn't satisfied with her life, she literally screamed i want more and it's kind of anticlimatic how that concludes in just her marrying Ed again. They could have dived in more about her frustrations with never going to college instead of putting so much focus on Ed and Tori or Ed and Nathan fighting

I agree with this. I loved Season 1 and was so blown away by it. The moment that the second season was announced I thought it was unnecessary. It should’ve stayed as a Mini Series and be remembered as a classic. If Season 2 did anything, it made me appreciate Season 1 more.

I was surprised by how much I could understand Mary Louise, not that I agree with her but I thought it was interesting that she wasn’t just a villain.

Underwhelming sure, but "doomed" is way too harsh imo. I'd be curious to see the correlation between people who liked the show and people who have a background in psych cuz it's a fascinating season from that perspective

Bonnie telling Nathan she wasn't in love with him was extremely weird. Nothing in the S1 indicated that she wasn't in love.

I dunno, I think sometimes we set first seasons of things we love up on a pedestal. You expect the same, and when things change, well...you get videos like this.

man honestly the whole season was so underwhelming. why in the world would ANY limited show try and do a second season is beyond me. limited shows are the absolute best, and they goddamn ruined it
