Good points. I only needed the base 2.7L and it pulls 3200 pounds of boat just fine (early 2024 model + one season of testing). I agree the ECO mode (2 cylinder) is stupid, like the collision detection (I unselected that) and also delays to connect to my Google (Android) phone app. (but the app does work for good navigation). I would suggest starting a purchase with the Work Truck options, it makes one think through the actual needs and cost. Lots of plastic, but also lots of steel where it is needed. BTW, it gets 25MPG lightly loaded as my daily driver and can exceed that on casual country drives. I especially like the backup and tow-hitch view camera, the easy lift tailgate (with storage) and the simple 4WD. does everything I want for $38K plus $760 of aftermarket options.

Great review, can’t wait to see what ride you get next.

I suppose GM is doing OK if the biggest beefs are what "could possibly happen" and where the headlight switch is.
I got the Colorado ZR2, and Im lovin' it so far.

He’s BACK!!! I wouldn’t touch it with your checkbook!! 4cyl with deactivation?? I guess they didn’t learn from the millions of destroyed GM cars and trucks!! Or did they and this is a bit of planned obsolescence??

My employer has a fleet of over 500 Chevy Vans and Trucks. The transmission failure rate is ridiculous! I had a 2022 Express 2500 van with 4.3 Litre V-6. Not even two years of mainly highway driving and the valve body failed. It’s been at the dealership for three months and parts are still back-ordered. My company had to buy me another van to keep me working!

Yep I can definitely see that computer screen going bad on that truck giving it a bunch of problems if I buy a new truck I want it to last at least 10 or 15 years I probably just need to stick to the old stuff

Cannot believe GM offers a package w/o cruise control. Even my girlfriend’s shitbox Yaris with steel wheels comes with cruise. What a crock of shit.

New vehicles demand a legal savvy consumer. Though I much prefer pre-2008 vehicles ... before paddle shifters, infotainment, phone chargers, and cup holders. Sigh.

Your turn signals auto cancel feature is destined to fail soon. Cheap parts = bad clock springs. Mine is a 2021 with just 15, 000 gentle miles on it and turn signal will not auto cancel (and you guessed it, out of warrantyand no help from GM for a known issue). I guess the scumbag lawyers will have to feed on them for a while before they issue a recall. Other than that the 3.6 on board has done everything I've asked of it with no complaints. Trans is smoth ride is decent. These trucks are destined to be the mainstay of GM light trucks, as pricing is attractive (especially in these times). But I would rather pay a few bucks more for better build quality. This is my second collorado I purchased new. From what I see and hear I doubt a third is in my future.

How do you accidentally buy the wrong truck?

CHECK THE HEAD LIGHTS ... They flicker so bad you can not drive them at night .GMC says there is no fix at this time and does F care .
