What is Pairing in ABA?

How can we be the most effective teachers for our kids? In this video BCBA Macarena Fernandez talks about how therapists establish themselves as reinforcers for the children they serve.

Pairing helps build rapport with a child and allows the therapist to establish instructional control. Pairing is the process by which kids can associate a therapist with fun events rather than work or demands.

Pairing is used with instructional control, which means that although the therapist is the "most fun person" they are also the most consistent in all areas of learning.

Nice, though calling it control, doesn't sound productive. I would rename it or rephrase it as Building Instructional Lead or Leadership or Guidance
