REVIEW OF NIKON Z8 FOR WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY

In this video I review my Nikon Z8 for wildlife photography. I have been using my Nikon Z8 foe almost a year so I now have a very good understanding of it's strengths and weaknesses when it comes to wildlife photography.

I bought the camera myself and I am not sponsored by any company.
This review is an honest look at the Nikon Z8 from the perspective of a wildlife photographer.

I have the same set up Steve and I love it. The AF system is excellent, which is what you need for birds in flight. There is another firmware update coming soon and hopefully, it will improve the low light capabilities.

Thanks for the vid. What lens do you use it with? I know it is not a comparison video but have tried other brand cameras like the Canon R5 or Sony, OM Systems at all?

Hi Steve, very interesting video and thoughts. Quick question, when you use pre capture on the Z8, does it save the images as separate jpg files (as happens in my Fuji X-T5) or one large file (like Canon R7 and R6mk2) from which you have to extract the pictures you want in camera (I think!)

The latest generation of cameras from manufacturers are ALL so capable now that it comes down to personal preference which to use. There's an argument that every single one is the best camera depending what it is you value. Everything is a compromise and even when the compromises are small you will pay for that privilege meaning yet another compromise 😊

Does the Z8 have animal tracking in 120fps? My G9ii loses that ability when in 4k 120fps

Z8+180-600 AF is often very inconsistent and unreliable . Hit rate is only 30-40%. Why? 🤔
