Such a good review! I completely agree about the lights on Skil tools, they're incredible and are 10x brighter than most tool brands. They are just starting out, so they still have a way to go, but I hope they release a more powerful and higher-quality line-up, preferably addressing some of their flaws. It's mildly disappointing that bigger tool brands wouldn't think more about lighting.

I like that that insert is removable because now you can repurpose that into a toolbox for anything. I have quite a few Milwaukee toolboxes that don’t have anything in them because I take the tools out and put them in a pack out and I can’t use them for anything else. Personally, I like the idea of a insert

Starting to see these at jobs much more often. Love to hear an honest review. Definitely solid tools, but I think the question for most contractors will be: “can they compete with Milwaukee and dewalt over a long period of time?”

These have been in South Africa for a few years now . They feel pretty solid but I don't know anyone that's really tested them on sites.

They look like dewalt charger and batteries

This looks like a fun brand. I love the big machines and have since I was a wee lad!

This seems like the Cat jump/air box sold at Costco. Is that product great? Not really, but it is fine for small 4 cyl cars and small psi tires.
This is just a marketing scheme

Thank you for another fabulous review Matt! I've never even heard of graphene before, so I'd love to see you test those batteries. CAT has always produced top quality equipment, so this likely is also. Keep up the great work! 😊😊😊❤❤❤

I'm truly wondering why they bother, it would take so long to catch up to the big boys. I guess the line would sell well at kmart

I think that at this point, any tool company that comes on the market needs to be eiter extremely well built and sell for a lower price than the current top companies or have a battery system that blows everything else out of the water. Some sort of batterythat is smaller, more powerful and runs loner and lasts years longer. Otherwise they are just wasting time and resources.

I have to say from personal experience, will these tools be like Cat Boot? basically junk? After 40 years in the Trades, I saw the introduction of battery tools, to the current day stuff, and when it comes to durability and reliability. Its hard to beat Dewalt or Milwaukee tools! Imagine having a crew of 50 to 60 guys that are not steady company guys, just hires out of the Hall, that will test tools for you. If there is a way to break Burnout destroy the tools it will show up. these were conditions in the upper Midwest on large Organized labor jobsites, Where the contractor provides all the power tools. just my thoughts and experience.

Are the other brand models you were comparing the CAT drills to also brushless?
I think that’s something to consider.

These tools are just rebranded, just a money grab liscence deal. Cat has nothing to do with these tools

So far the cats power tools I used have been a let down for the price and new battery isn't game changing as they act

I'll stick to tried and true companies who have been doing this for years. If Im alive in decade or two and CAT is still improving in powertools then maybe.
That said, love their winter work socks.
