What happens if US reaches debt ceiling?

Better idea - quit paying politicians and all their perks. Quit allowing the richest 5% to pay the least taxes. Go back to limits on campaign contributions.

How about we halt the politician’s pay instead of military salaries for our protection or Social Security of which it’s all those people have. I’m pretty sure those rich politicians do not need Social Security to live on. They could live a couple months without pay. Oh and also they have lots of money because insider trading is legal for them!

We spend the most on our military compared to the next 3 largest countries combined and we can't even give our soldiers minimum wage.
