also for those who already have the file name called hosts in the given folder and still the installation is failed you can delete the existing hosts file and create a new one it will solve the problem

Already had a hosts file. Deleted it and created an empty one. Installed the client sucessfuly. Thanks for your help!

didnt have etc folder at all, created the folder and the file

It didn't work for me, I realized that my host file looks like a notebook page, instead of a white sheet, any solution?
