I sometimes use a plunger to push my cargo down the pipe.

I never realized how loud ships were underwater. Now I see why it's easy for submarines to find them.

The ship engine sounds so omnious under water. And somehow so fascinating also

I have much more respect for fish now. I couldn't deal with that on a daily basis.

It's a wonder that diver didn't turn the water brown.

Panic is the most accurate word for this type of situations.

I've had this happen to me twice, first at a Ferry terminal (my own damned fault) and second during a navigation dive in shallow water (their damned fault as I had a flag displayed). The first time I had to hold tight to the pilings so I didn't get sucked into the screws. The second time I was only in 6 feet of water coming across a shallow at a sand bar. I got a half a second warning from the buzzing of the Cabin Cruisers props before its bow wake SLAMMED me into the bottom. That was lucky, as it stuck me there just long enough not to be hit by the props. Such is life in the Undersea World.

I don't have severe phobias, but this hit them all in a way that gave me serious chills. Being trapped, underwater, by a giant, man-made object in the water. The propeller at the end is just the cherry on top of the creepiness.

0:39 that propeller is beautiful and terrifying at the same time.

This a Great Lakes freighter. That range from 800 to 1000 feet in length, so that propeller was HUGE.

The diver's mother tongue is French, he meant to use the word "diver" but made a mistake in translating the word "plongeur" phonetically sounding like "plunger". The event happened in the St-Laurence Seaway possibly in the province of Québec. This happens frequently because there is a lot of scuba diving on the wrecks there and also in the Thousand Island area in Ontario. Been there, done that many times. It's a thrill, the low pitched sound waves shake you to the bone.

That must have been fucking terrifying, knowing the threat of that propeller desperately trying to stay as low as possible must have been stressful as fuck
