❝Princesses don't marry kitchen boys❞

Yeeess! After months of work I'm happy to announce that it's finally finished! And it turned out much longer than what I had expected. I was rooting for a 3 minute video but once again I underestimated my ability to keep things short. I was forced to change the song THREE times because the previous ones weren't long enough, that's why I didn't use the song "Let me down slowly" as I originally used in the shorter version.

Also the main reason why this took so long to finish was because I was uncertain about the ending... I had like five different endings in mind and of course my mind couldn't just set on one and be happy about it because why make things easy for myself when I could just overanalyze everything for two weeks. Hopefully the ending isn't too harsh though D:

PLOT (SPOILERS):

Jim works as a janitor in the palace where princess Anastasia lives with her father (the king) and her advicer Prudence. After spending a lot of time together, Jim and Anastasia develop feelings for each other and have lately began to date in secret. Why a secret? Because Anastasia is a princess and Jim is a kitchen boy, they believe that the kingdom would be outraged if they found out that their princess has settled for a guy of lower class.

Prudence dislikes the idea of Anastasia fancying a kitchen boy and therefore lectures her about her duties. One day Prudence discovers that Jim and Anastasia have feelings for one another and instantly gets distraught. She keeps a close eye on them and as she notices their feelings growing stronger she suggests to the (unknowing) king that Anastasia should be introduced to a suitable prince to marry, and appropriately enough, king Eric is seeking a wife. Jim gets heartbroken and tries to talk some sense into Anastasia who tells Jim that this is out of her control and that it's her duty to do what's best for the kingdom. Jim gets angry and basically ignores her. Eric soon notices that Anastasia admires Jim and confronts her about it. Anastasia tells him the truth and Eric gets offended over how she would choose a simple kitchen boy over a future king. Jim finds Anastasia battered and goes to confront Eric. Eric attacks Jim and Jim kills Eric in self-defence. The guards capture Jim who gets executed and there is nothing Anastasia can do about it (either because Anastasia's opinion doesn't matter or because Eric's kingdom would probably go to war with Anastasia's if they didn't avenge their prince's assassin. So the king believes it would be better to execute Jim to keep Eric's kingdom pleased and their own kingdom safe).

EXTENDED INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHARACTERS:
Age:
Jim is 18 and Anastasia is 17

Background:
Jim has been an orphan since childhood, you could say that the palace "took him in" and gave him a job so he would survive. He lives very poorly and therefore feels obliged to stay, even though Prudence is neglecting him.
Anastasia also lost her mother at a very young age and therefore feels a connection with Jim.

Prudence:
Prudence has the same role in this AU as she has in the movies. Her job is to look after and shape the princess, give her advice and make sure she follows her daily rutine and duties. She is not evil, she just strictly values the kingdom's laws and traditions and therefore she is against Jim and Anastasia's relationship. According to her, Jim is bad influence on Anastasia and therefore she dislikes him.
