Today, we have a Voith gear-boxed B9TL, a combination which isn’t very common in the UK, let alone London, with Metroline being one of two operators to own these, Stagecoach being the second. The B9 chassis is more commonly paired with a ZF gearbox. Manipulating the gearbox on these buses can cause a downshift which leads to it holding gears until redline, which is seen multiple times in this video. This was recorded on route 81 which predominantly runs along the A4 which gave many opportunities to max out at 39mph.
