Since at least November 17, the Israeli army has been claiming that they found Hamas tunnels located under Al Shifa hospital in Gaza. However, many social media users are now claiming that the Israelis have simply discovered tunnels that they dug themselves. We tell you who might have built these tunnels in this edition of Truth or Fake.

Isreal films everything, yet I have not seen any footage of a Hamas built tunnel leading into or out of the Hospital itself.

There is no command centre found and everybody knows Israel built tunnels. That is why they were sure that there were tunnels under hospitals. But they could not find anything in the tunnel that shows Hamas used that tunnel as command centre.

A bunker and a tunnel are two different things..

From 1967-2005, apparently Al Shifa was the Israeli military headquarters in Gaza. Jeremy Scahill wrote in an article that two Tel Aviv firms built the tunnels under Al Shifa.

The truth is clear, no matter who built these structures; they are not tunnels that can be used for launching attacks.

the real question is, “who wrote the title of this video”?

The bunker structure and tunnels Ehud Barak refers to are the 'Shifa cellars' (Israeli built) but Hamas never ended up using any of those structures (even though that was the whole crux of Israel's thesis, going back years — these tunnels with the concrete arches which the IDF appeared to show us are typical of Hamas tunnel construction — either way the point in all of this is that the tunnels they did end up showing us as were not even close to the narrative the IDF tried to portray (none of this tunnel network even has access to the inside of the hospital campus let alone the basement of the buildings and so could not have been used for sneaky movements through the hospital as the IDF regularly attempted to describe incl with their animations) — what was found in this tunnel is not at all sufficient to invalidate the protected status of the Al Shifa hospital, this was not a Hamas Pentagon HQ, they didn't even confirm for us with DNA forensics if any hostages were kept down there (which means they probably weren't down there), It's also evident that you couldn't store any heavy rocket munitions down in those cramped corridors so the danger of that tunnel wasn't critical — you have to have an extremely good excuse, the threat inside the hospital has to be extreme enough to invalidate those humanitarian protections and this wasn't even close (but Israeli intelligence is very good, even if their judgement in acting on intelligence in so so, Israeli intelligence would have easily known the threat from inside the hospital was non-existent, they've had years to surveil that hospital, which is all the more reason this was certainly a deliberate war crime and a probing exercise to see what they could get away with)

The issue, under the Geneva conventions, is not who built them but for what purposes they are used. If they are used for ANY non humanitarian purpose, they lose their status and their protection as medical facilities.

what about the drone that have legs? FRANCE i dare ya to debunk it as well.
where the IDF showed the footage from their drone from the surface entering the tunnel. when it was supposed to be 1 shot video turns out it's a stitched video (combining 2 video). when the drone entered the tunnel suddenly the movement of the drone doesn't seems right. as it grows a leg walking in the tunnel.

Tunnels under hospital still under construction and IDF needs 3, 4 weeks to build hamas headquarters. 😅😅😅😅

@france 24, that should be "were" and not "where."

Every hospital has subterranean floors and corridors underneath it. Every large hotel and office building has the same. That's where you transport goods, that's where staff checks in. Storage. So that's normal.
What's not normal is tunnels being built outside of this to connect buildings like networks, and use for other purposes, so there should not be any living quarters down there as well. The tunnels Hamas built are nothing like what you would expect from a commercial facility like a hospital, or a large hotel. They are clearly meant for trafficking things you don't want discovered like military troops, weapons and bombs, and illegal goods and activities, hostages. So just by the design of the facility you can tell what it's meant to be used for.
You need to also consider the fact that any facility built for the right intentions can be misused and misappropriated by anyone. So if a hospital was built by the Israelis for the benefit of Palestinians, it's not their fault if it's taken over by Hamas and used for other illegal purposes.
When that is the case, Hamas is to blame for the misappropriation, and so is the leadership of the facility allowing it to happen.

From my understanding it was the basement that was constructed to increase the amount of useful space in the hospital while keeping it within the confines of the compound, there are plenty of technical reasons for doing this, watch the interview again, and bare in mind English doesn't appear his 1st language as he makes a few syntax errors that foreigners typically make, he said bunker, but it appears he means basement as he himself explains why it was constructed - to create extra space but people miss that after jumping on the ' built bunker bit' people get emotionally charged and it overrides reason so brain skips detail as its overloaded.

A basement isn't a tunnel every hospital has a morgue
