I don't actually make any photos so I just look for specs (while also looking for a decent look)
Specs rule

Some people dont care for the camera, but samsung cared back there with the "Samsung galaxy s4 zoom".😅

I agree, even because when you have a good computer, the only thing you do with your phone is making some pictures, watching YouTube and playing some games that don't require a very powerful hardware.

My motto is : no matter how good the specs is or how good the camera is, never buy it if it doesn't have a 3, 5mm audiojack AND an SD card slot. Hence i bought the xperia 1 VI quite recently.

I take photos with a "real camera" anyway so I don't really need that in a phone.
Also, Idk why speaking only about specs, the most important thing I'd say is the screen, I prefer having a bad cpu in my phone but a good screen than a good cpu and a bad screen, I'm not doing anything heavy anyway, for that I have a computer

My motto is to buy a model that is almost a flagship because it has a good processor, camera, and display.

Meh, for me it goes as following:
1. Specs
2. Software
3. Customer support (Warrenty, availability, Security)
4. Batterylife
5. Camera

Note this also matters on the quality of display

So Specs + Camera + Display

The problem with budget smartphones is mostly the camera software that the phone comes with. Using something like GCam (Google Camera) can easily improve quality of photos.

For me it is:
1: software
2: value
3: design
4: camera
5: specs

I agree, i had a 9T from my mother when she changed phones a few years back, i didn't use it much since i already had a phone but she insisted in me having it, it's good as hell and works nice

I have a galaxy s24. If it didn't have any cameras at all I wouldn't complain about that.

For me camera is always a priority. I travel quite a lot and take pictures of nearly everything. There's currently 8000+ photos in my gallery. I don't want to buy a camera because of how large they are and how annoying it is to send everything to your phone or PC to save. A month ago I finally got new Realme with optical zoom and after a week went to another trip. And it was just so damn good. Now I have no idea how did I live without it

That’s where GCam used to come in clutch 😁

I do the same thing. I go for specs first and foremost. Camera is not even in my top 5 priority. I look for Processor, GPU, RAM, Storage, Display & FPS.

Honestly it depends on you preference, if want a good camera to take good photos or good specs for work or playing games or all in one. :)

In budget range,

Go for phones like Moto Edge 50 for best cameras, feature rich and decent performance or go for the Poco F6 or X6 for best performance and decent camera.

Phone like Iqoo Z9 are a great option too but most of them as they have great performance and a good main camera, but most of them lack an Ultrawide lens. I would just prefer Poco in those cases normally

Galaxy S23fe has been selling for a lot cheaper recently, which is the best camera phone in Mid-range, but you might need to pay a bit extra and has its own compromises
