In this video, we are going to discuss how you can automate assigning CDS (Common Data Service) security role permissions to users by using Power Automate (Microsoft Flow).

This approach is useful when you need to assign users to a CDS Security role and don't want to do it manually. The solution can be used for Dynamics 365 CE, Model Driven Apps and when providing Power Automate users with the correct role inside of CDS.

Hey Kent, thank you very much for this video, this helped a lot to automate the process for new users! Actually, it worked for me to use the CDS connector (for current environment) outside of solution. In my case the actions were called instead of "list records" and "relate records" ---> "relate rows" and "list rows".

Hi Kent, Is it possible to associate one user with another across different business units? For example, Ana is in BU: A with security roles A1, A2, A3, and I want to associate the security roles with Jose, who is in BU: B.

Thanks for the great power automate job. Works fine for all security roles except when trying to assign Sys Admin role i get this error "Cannot associate security role because the security role's Business Unit is not the same as the user's Business Unit. " Any ideas would be appreciated
