Does Fuji connect the thermistor in the XT2 (body or grip)? I noticed that my X-T1 only gets power and has no connection for the thermistor in the body. Seems like it would be very cheap to multiplex a processor A/D input to read that thermistor data to keep from killing the cells.

I'm trying to find anything regarding if or how the battery grip effects focusing ability on the xt2. I'm obsessed with photographing eagles and looking for any improvement with focusing.

Epic videos! Out of interest I am struggling to find any direct comparisons between the xt2 Fuji vertical grip and the Meike MK grip? Do you know if anyone has done one?

Hey fella, I noticed the ability to lock the functions like shutter aperture ISO etc from the menu is missing on the X-T2, on X-T1 I used to knock my aperture dial all the time so it was really handy to lock, could you please mention this.

I was just wondering if it would make a difference how many volts come out of your wall? 110v us vs 220v eur

I am charging my xt2 with the old batteries in the vertical grip with no issues (no heat and fast). In fact I only charge them that way. 240V outlet.

What strap do you use on your fuji's?

+Theoria Apophasis - Hey Ken, A serious question.
I read of an X-T2 user plugging in an external battery - such as one would use to extend the life of a mobile or charge an iPad, connected by wire to the camera and having it in their pocket. Is this possible?
(I am still waiting for my XT2 and grip to be delivered, so I can't test it myself - bought on your recommendation, thanks.)

My english is not perfect Ken, so if i use 126s Batterys im fine and dont have any Problems with charging in the Grip or Camera ?
Because i find it a very good Option to charge in the Grip and use it very often.

Thanx !

Thanks for the vid! Your X-T2 charger that you are showing at 2:21 looks different from mine. The one that came with my camera does not have a plug attached to the body but it has a long ass wire that plugs into the outlet! I hate these, I bought three chargers (for six batteries ) and now I have three extra wires that I have to deal with whenever I take the chargers anywhere...this don't make sense...Are you sure that is the X-t2 charger that you showed at 2:21 and not the X-t1's?

I don't see this as an issue personally, although I'm sure there will be idiots who'll jump on this as being a major problem. In the couple of cameras I own which allow charging inside the camera body I always charge batteries externally anyway. It seems that this problem is entirely rectified by simply only using the more recent updated batteries which were specifically designed for the XT2. I do of course realise many XT2 owners will be XT1 owners with additional spare batteries which they will want to use so your advise is both excellent and clear. My biggest concern would be for those users who attempt to charge 3rd party ( cheap/fake ) batteries this way. I'd be particularly worried about the battery swelling and remaining stuck in the grip. This is why I never charge internally even with OEM batteries. I'd only charge internally if I had no choice, I'd always advise the use of external chargers where possible.

Thanks for this Ken ....I had no idea at all about this issue and i have recharging my XT1 batteries with the grip, but no problem will just change my way of doing it and use the separate charger to do it. Cheers again

Ken, why not letting Fuji know about the excessive heat issue?

I personally dislike grips in general. I owned before one and quickly sold it. I rather walk with extra batteries and swap as necessary then destroy the xt2 aesthetic look and size.

At least they don't explode like a Samsung *knock on wood*

faulty design. fuji must slightly change the form factor of the xt2 battery so no one can feed xt1 battery into xt2.

Just ordered two NP-W126S and UHS-II for max performance and security. I was charging two aftermarket (patona x-t1 spec) batteries in the grip and checked them during the charging process, not warm no heat. Nevertheless i follow up your advise Ken becouse you cant mess with lithium batteries.
