Seereax, what happened was, that cubic counters negate the effects of monster, however, you are still allowed to activate those effects, and its a cost to shuffle the gb into the deck first, then its effect summons something else from the deck, and since the Vijam didn't target then the gb can dodge the negation. So that is what you were missing.

This man literally introduced me to Dark Side of Dimensions and I loved Diva/Aigami so much so that I also started playing Cubics (I was originally a Heroes kinda guy) currently working out a way to see how I can make a deck with both and have it still be viable, Heroes got me to plat V and Cubics to plat 3

Just a suggestion, I use gryphon's feather duster in my cubic deck and I use it to pop my own back row (ex: 3 cubic karmas) and then I can use the graveyard effects and gain life points for a sweep with CRIMSON NOVA, THE DARK CUBIC LORD

when the gladiator beast returned to the deck he no longer had a counter so it was no longer negated

Great video as always man! Also, since you were wondering why the Gladiator Beast still popped its effect despite having a counter on itself, let me explain: in Yu-Gi-Oh usually you can't negate activation costs, and the cost of that effect's activation was "return this card to the deck" so once it got back in the deck the counter wasn't there anymore and the effect was able to resolve no problem. The same can happen with Skill Drain: if you use an effect of a monster that removes said monster from the field as cost, then it can resolve since at resolution the monster isn't under Skill Drain's effect anymore (e.g. Using Accesscode, banishing itself to destroy Skill Drain).

For the Glad Beast Duel, allow me to Explain....

1. Glads when they Tag Out do not activate the Effect to do so as it is apart of their Gimmick and is filed under an "Inherent" Summon meaning a Type of Summon that cannot be Stopped by Normal Means

2. Vijam only negates the On-Field Effects which 99% of the Time will be Spent BEFORE Vijam ever Gets to Apply its Effect, as most trigger via "If this card was Special Summoned by the Effect of a "Gladiator Beast" Effect, **Insert Effect of Monster Name here** "


That's why Vijam didn't prevent the Shuffling back or "Tag Out" effect of Equiste
