They have roasted pork here in the States. His acting like they're serving him roasted bats covered with insect cream.

That lechon costs so much money in the Philippines. Even if it looks bizarre to foreigners it's literally roasted pork. Refusing to eat something that was prepared for you is the worst thing you can do.

If you jump to a relationship with someone from another culture, respect and be ready to adapt

yeah i get that with the whole pig just laid out there might be a bit daunting. but it's pork at the end of the day. and that's their culture, and it's expensive and it was very thoughtful of them.

This is really sad. For anyone wondering, a WHOLE pig would cost around USD 150-200.

They give a lot of the very little they have. The gesture is delicious and priceless. I can't believe he's so clueless. Eat, bro.

lechon is a huge deal for filipinos, I live in Canada and here its even only eaten in times of celebration because of how hard it is to prepare and how expensive. I could only imagine how they feel in the Philippines.... the least he couldve done was actually try it. super insulting

Bruh that lechon looked pretty damn good like wtf, they spent that money to make you something special and you gonna not eat their food. Damn bruh. I don’t care what his reason

The guys seems uneducated. It doesn't mean that food prepared in a third world country is a crap or filthy. That pig might be healthier than what you eat back home. It's unprocessed and it might be free range too. He needs to learn about cultures of different country and Its a no brainier that what he did was insulting and disrespectful. Pls, it's a food, they will not serve something that will hurt their visitor.

No processing here just the real deal . A banquet for a family . This was the food for kings and queens back in the day . No poor people got anywhere near this luxurious food back then .
