European space agency eyes future 'moon village'

CNNi talks to Johann-Dietrich Woerner, head of the European Space Agency, about the organization's international lunar base proposal.

This new director is fucking smart. Finally someone is in charge who understands that colonizing and industrializing the Moon must come before Mars. Once you have underground cities, launch pads, runways, mines and factories on the moon, humanity becomes a spacefaring species. Once we industrialize the Moon, it won't even be a big feat to colonize Mars. Hell, colonizing the moons of Jupiter wouldn't even be that hard once we industrialize our Moon.

Anybody know of some mechanical engineers and other technical scientists to help design/build this and other human space inhabit projects? 3-D printing, robotics, structural, architects and lots of "living designers/scientists (How humans would cope with working and living in space for long periods. Like living in the Antarctica and Arctic.

NASA program isn't strong enough--you're talking about a long term project where the slightest miscalculation will throw everything down the gutter... They're smart, but... Let someone else take the bait, learn from their mistakes, hide personal knowledge already retained. The ramifications wouldn't just be a failed program, it would hit home base.
