From the pacific side of Mexico to its border and north along CA's coast up to Santa Barbara I surfed the best of that coastline had to offer. From 14 years old early sixties, starting with the longer heavier boards to the smaller under six ft boards, moved to inland N. CA with a new family early seventies before what we used to call belly boards became the new surfboard lengths. God I wish I could have experienced in my lifetime what I just watched. Those days are behind me but my closeness to the oceans and those memories will never leave me.

73, rode a wave from were they started from, stepped of in front of the pub, 6 foot and perfect the whole way, was a monday and only 10 of us in the water, 40 minutes walk back, was the end for me, nothing was ever as good again !
