Anyone else not read seasonal books because they read so slow that by the time they're done the book, the season passed?

Thanks for the recommendations. You've now doubled my holds list at the library. I probably won't get to them this month, but a lot of these books just look fascinating. I'm looking forward to reading some new books :)

Jackson, I believe you may be the first American I have heard pronounce Samhain properly. Utterly refreshing. 👌

I used to love the movie version of the Halloween Tree as a kid, and it wasn’t until a few years ago that I learned that Ray Bradbury had written the book. I recently finished a book of his short stories- the Illustrated Man.
I definitely want to check out My Favorite Thing is Monsters- it looks fascinating. I’m already working on 2 or 3 books and have finished several graphic novels, but what’s a few more books on my tbr list.

I've been wanting to read My Favorite Thing Is Monsters for a while but I'd never actually seen it physically, only on rec lists and such so I didn't quite get how big it is, wow!
Also, I got your book and I'm so excited to read it!!

SUCH a great list. I'm reading Frankenstein for the first time in preparation for Kiersten White's book, which I grabbed from the library last week. Enjoying it so far!

In the Neil Gaiman category The Graveyard Book is definitely thematically fitting for the season. Also seasonal would be Bunnicula...which I read as a kid, so have no idea if it holds up for adults, but I do think of it when I see albino vegetables.

I love this video so much - I want to read so many of these! I’m a big fan of the novel Frankenstein as well, and I really loved The Casebook of Victor Frankenstein by Peter Ackroyd. It has Victor interacting with several of the people who were in Mary Shelley’s life, so it’s a sort of historical fiction, and it’s got an incredible surprise ending that blew my mind. I highly recommend it!

Yes to Deliverance Dane!! Also to add to your TBR—Katherine Howe came out with a sequel in the past year or so called The Daughters of Temperance Hobbs!
