ah! steel 37 brass 45. That was the answer I need. That gauge looks like it's made to go inside the fitting and then hang on the edge. If it's a tight clean fit, that's the angle. If you see light in the gauge, then it's probably the other side. The long edge goes inside the fitting and the "hook" hangs on the angled flare. That's just how I see it.

For everyone wondering where to get the angle gauge in the video, I couldn't find it by googling Parker so I called up and asked Guy. The part number for the tool kit is MIK-1 and it is indeed from Parker.

can you slide the gage into the fitting so it shows the angle in the middle of the gage?

Nice video. I think I flared a 45° on an auto AC aluminum line when it should’ve been 37°. The line came flared from the supplier but it was scored deeply by their tool so the flare failed during install leaving me to clean up and reflare the incorrect size 🤦‍♂️
