Ok so there is a big misconception about Apple and deploying certain technologies. The issue with Apple deploying stuff compared to others has to do with quality yield in the manufacturing process. Apple is handicapped by their yield requirement. They sell orders of magnitude more devices across every product line compared to other companies. They are more sensitive to manufacturing yield than smaller players like Garmin. Apple has the best technology, the best engineers, the best manufacturing process, they just have to deal with much higher yield requirements. I'm a supply chain engineer for TSMC, trust me when i say this.

Fenix 8 pro with a LTE variant would be great for some people

In my opinion, functions are more important than a nice screen. One reason why I don't use AMOLED, even if it looks beautiful, is the risk of burn-in. Micro LED would be a good option here, but only if it was affordable.
In addition, I buy things when I want or need them and don't wait for something new that might come along at some point. Anyone who buys a new Fenix 8 today will certainly enjoy it for a long time because its functions are very sophisticated, and the software will hopefully get better over time.

I just realized the audio editing error from 2:23 - 2:38. Sorry about that! 😬 If you can't hear me clearly the closed captions are accurate.

I would have liked the Fenix 8 to have an LTE version and also have the ability to measure blood pressure.

Has anyone ever experienced burn-in on their OLED smartwatch? I've had mine for 4 years, with an always-on display for about 18 hours a day, and I still haven't noticed any burn-in. My watch cost RM82.50 ($20), and the only issue I've encountered is battery degradation. lol

Garmin continues to take advantage of their loyal fan base… and it will be their inevitable downfall in the watch space. Just my 2 cents.

The only Fenix Pro is my old Fenix 6 Pro Solar Titanium that I don't intend to change anytime soon :))

Perhaps the "Pro" will be the new Epix? It was the current Epix line that introduced new display tec, to the outdoor activity line of watches.

I live in Belgium and we rarely see the sun. That's why my choice will be AMOLED. But I will wait a little longer for the problems to be fixed with updates. Do you think it makes sense?

I am satisfied with my Fenix 6 Pro even today. Even if it wanted to work with my iPhone, that would be perfect, and even today, when I ride my bike 40 km a day in the mountains, my iPhone shows that I haven't done anything in the fitness application. It simply doesn't want to download data from the watch, regardless of whether everything is connected. I tried to reset the phone one and the other and reset the clock, it just doesn't work.😢

so I'm staying with the Garmin Fenix 6 for now because it's just not worth buying another watch because I don't really know what the problem is

With a watch that constantly crashes and reboots ..! I don’t think so..

What features would the fenix 8 pro have over the current 8 versions? maybe a faster CPU?

LTE and sport functions. Perfecting the algorytihms should be priority on sports watch. Leave new fency screens to smartwatches and when the technology is tested and reliable then implement it into sports watches.

Hi, great video
I just want to know some more feature regarding receiving calls.
Normally i wear wireless bluetooth, so if i answer the incoming call from the watch, so the voice of the other person will come from the watch, mobile or my connected wireless bluetooth?
If, by answering the call from the watch, the voice of other person comes from the watch, so does the watch has the option to switch the voice of other person to my connected bluetooth from the watch itself..? Or do i need to pull out my phone from my pocket to do so..?
Please make a detail video of it
Thanks....

While I was thinking about Amoled? MIB, now PRO.... Should I wait? There is no freezing problem in the solar model, but Amoled is a powerful screen... I AM VERY UNDECISIONARY.

i just returned a brand new Epix Pro Gen 2, Carbon Sapphire 47mm to Garmin with water ingress issues from open water swimming usage, 3 weeks without a watch! Running with my iphone / stop watch, and swimming without a watch ! These are known problems with Epix and Fenix Series . Garmin hopefully will have solved these problems on newer models ( Fenix 8) ....PS: the customer service in Greece has been very slow ...Not impressed after paying, 1000 euro for the watch .
