Solved - XML Parsing Error in Microsoft Word File (Corrupted File)

This video will demonstrate you if your Microsoft Word file is corrupted and showing "XML Parsing Error" message while opening you can try this fix to get the file working again. I hope it may work out for you.

PRO TIP: I spent hours trying to get this to work just to find that google drive could read the file just fine and you can copy paste it over to word easy peasy. Save yourself the time and just upload the corrupt file to drive!

Hi, thanks for the video. Very useful. However, like the comments below, you are not answering the question: "What if I don't have an older working version of the corrupted file?." Your answer is: "try to fix the second line" or "give it more time." Please explain what you mean.

Unfortunately Notepad++ becomes non responsive when trying to create Pretty Print with breaks. My file has 36, 000, 000 lang length - could it be too large for Notepad to handle?

Hey! I'm running into trouble trying to format with pretty print, clicking on "XML only with line breaks" tells me there are errors detected in content. If I "check XML syntax now, " it tells me there's a "Premature end of data in tag document line 2."
I can't get the file to format; it stays as 2 lines. Any ideas?

Rename DOCX to DOC and open in WPS office, save as *.DOCX document.

Has anybody had a problem saving an indesign file to a pdf — and then trying to save the pdf into a word doc? Adobe Acrobat Pro is saying it can't save the pdf to word because of an XML parsing error. So how do I fix it in pdf so that I save the pdf to word?

I was about to down you at first because this didn't help me figure it out my problem... but you are AWESOME.... I was using PHPword to create word docs which was working perfectly in test environment, but when I used live data I got this error.I found this video and it really help me know about .doc files in general, which was awesome but didn't help to see what was the problem.  but with just a little more search now I found out that '& 'sign needs to be replaced with '&' in xml docs.  Thanks TechPakTech.
