I just love Joo hoo appa when he doesn't pretend unnecessarily brave, just to hold on to the toxic masculinity. He is normalising it for Gunhoo that it's ok to be scared, it's ok to say certain things make you feel less confident. He tries his best to be in those uneasy situations only for his kids.

The KBS show writers need to learn a thing or two from him, and not label him as 'scaredy dad'. He is no lesser of a man or a dad just because he is scared of certain things. Let's normalise it for men to be scared and express their fears. That idiotic unnecessary mask of being masculine is lethal.

I don't think jooho is scared of height or doesn't have sense of direction. It's just his way of teaching naeun and gunhoo to be brave and confidence of what they're doing. He keeps asking naeun of what to do so she can keep thinking and look for solution. That what makes her brain function well and she can reflect quickly. But when she can find none, that's when he interfere. Either by words or action. I actually like this kind of parenting style. It's almost similar to the leadership style.

I love his way of educating both of their children. They are given the education of cause effect, so they would make decisions, learn from mistakes, and learn from it. I also love how their parents make the kids feels that they are dependent on by asking help and all. That's why they have grown up very reliable, confident, creative, and independent.
