I don’t recommend promoted listings if you sell under 10 items a day, I’d just give the promoted listings rate to your customer in the form of a discount. Hopefully this makes sense.

I agree that every item has its place. I promote many items but not all. Usually, I promote high-dollar items or ones I have a high markup on especially when I have enough quantity I want to move through quickly. OTOH as he states I am in a particular market and know my items very well. At first skeptical about promotions, but I found they increased sales by 30%. While I like to give my customers a discount, that was not adding up to the same 30% increase in sales. Average 15 items a day on a yearly basis with approx $250K a year gross. Its been a good gig.

What does it mean when an item has a price tag and says plus shipping does it means you have to to pay twice. Eg $45 + shipping

So eBay hides listings? Ive seen others say that selecting Newly Listed will likely show everything available, however, does the same apply when sorting by Lowest Priced or Highest Priced?

So, for example, if I’m a buyer and have an exact name for something, and search shows me no listings, there could still be items that are posted and match what I’m looking for, but hidden from me in search results? What’s the point in doing that, especially for uncommon, but not rare items?

I ask because I only sell on eBay in spurts to clear out stuff ASAP, rather than donate it for tax deductions or relatives find a pile of semi-valuable stuff in their garage and don’t want to do a garage sale.

Most of the stuff I sell have no more than a dozen listings of the exact same item, at any given time, and sometimes none being sold for months. Is eBay hiding listings for relatively uncommon things, and now can’t be found in a search?

Hey Chris, thanks for the video. Whats your stance on dynamic promoted listings, where the algorithm decides for you how much % the fee is going to be day to day?

I have my dad’s old 45 records with sleeves. I put up the beetles “can’t buy me love” and i promoted it at 9%. Listed at $500 with $250 as min offer. Almost immediately I was offered $300 and I countered at $400 and the offer expired. Did I make a mistake? Should I put it up for auction?

I just bought out a video game store and am not offering any discounts or promotions. Getting every penny is a relief after this clothing game of suggested rates, lowball offers and shipping rate increases
