Actually the worst thing about that generation is the weak 4 speed transmission that couldn’t handle the torque

300hp to the front wheels is a recipe for torque steer. This was GM's answer to the Charger and 300.

wow. a 300hp FWD V8, that’s something you don’t see everyday

Nahhh, the worst part is that clicking noise under the dash that pretty much all of them ended up getting

For the love of god DO NOT BUY THIS CAR unless you like the following: Transmission issues, HVAC knocking, piss poor handling, 4-speed autos, general cheapness, and poor build quality. I knew my mechanics very well when I owned this car.

Finally someone addressed this underrated sleeper. I have one of these currently and it's my daily. 154668 miles on the dash and still going with mild traction control problems. Recently got louder pipes installed and it sounds beautiful

It looks like a generic mass produced car from a video game or something

Had one of these for 5 years. Held up super well and was a really fun daily with a surprising amount of aftermarket support!

We Germans had SS badges as well back in the day

Fun fact: the chevy impala was the last car to ever have a bench front seat in 2007.

The wheels were the easiest way to tell from a distance. The chrome strip on the trunk was also color matched on the SS.

Someone should throw an engine in the rear and make it AWD.

I had a '13 with the 3.6 V6 and virtually the same horsepower. I loved driving it. Comfy highway ride and it ate miles like they were candy. I got rid of it though. Had too many issues.

Chevy had a rear wheel version of the SS that was built in Australia by Holden with the LS engine. It was a good car, but never got any marketing support here in the US. It was the Chevy version of the last version of the Pontiac GTO just before Pontiac was shut down.

I've got the police version of this with the flex fuel 3.6 and the sport tuned 6 speed and it's such a fun daily. It's been an extremely reliable car for me. Pretty cheap way to get a decent amount of power and not have to spend a fortune on gas. Some forget, the 3.6 lfx in these is the same engine that's in the 5th gen v6 camaros, just transverse mounted for front wheel drive.

Looks better than some modern interiors..

Oh ja! Ich liebe das SS-Emblem auf der Rückseite und dem Lenkrad!

I prefer the Buick Lacrosse Super over this. I think the interior looks better.

Yeah, I remember mine. First car I ever bought. She treated me good. Slammed it up the ass end of a Forrester and caused five or six critical engine components to become joined in holy matrimony, but we had some fun while she could still run.
