Clutch Masters FX350 Clutch Kit Chatter

preview_player
Показать описание
Clutch kit installed in a APR Stage II 2011 Volkswagen GTI with supporting modifications. Part number 17375-HDFF-SHP (single mass steel flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch disc made of Kevlar, ceramic, and organic material).

The chatter is worse in the video than in person.

Thanks, it's a 42nd Draft Design downpipe (catted and resonated) and a Magnaflow catback exhaust. I wanted something with no drone and a nice throaty sound when you push it, which is exactly what it does.

On a side note it appears the VW community has deemed chatter to be a clicking sound via idle. Thats fine and all since you guys have redefined the word...but do a search on definitiion of clutch chatter you will find that chatter is defined everywhere else as vibration under engagement.

Its normal if u want it to go away put the 47 pound OEM flywheel back on. I have fx100 in a 09 caliber srt4...same noise. It as actually says it will happen on their web site

It's possible, also if there is no cat or resonator it would probably sound a bit raspier and be louder overall.

rsr has a clutch set up that will work with your stock dual mass flywheel and it is quiet about 999.99 more if you need trans hardware also no returns or anything they make it custom to order or you can get one from each performance from germany but that will run you almost 2000$$$ but quiet last nut not least southbound silent design give it a go 1100

Thats normal. That is clutch chatter noise which is found in aftermarket clutches. I have the same kit on my mk4 gti

Nice! I love the magnaflow catback. Still considering what kind of downpipe to get. I take it if yours cattless and non-resonated you would have that drone you didn't want? Is that why you went with the cat and resonator?

Chatter = vibration during clutch engagement. What you guys are hearing is what the car does. A clutch does not create that sound at all....

When the A/C is off you don't hear the chatter much, when the A/C is on you can hear it more.

On a different note, what is your exhaust set up? It sounds nice.

Did this sound ever go away? Would you recommend clutchmasters and the fx300? Do you still have the sound after 500 mile breakin?

Not sure why the sound went away with your car, but it will not go away with mine, it's due to a single mass flywheel setup.

Is it a sprung disc ?, they are supposed to dampen the sound, if rigid disc then more chatter, wondered if you have the sprung or unsprung disc, denoted by D(amped ) or R(igid) for unsprung

This sound should disappear after a while, but as mike says, this sound is not chatter though I dn't agree with him in one point, which is the clutch is actually wt making this noise, it is caused by the small circled part (not pressure plate or clutch disk) it is the third part which makes a full clutch kit, sry but I dunno wt it is called in english....anyways...I have an EK9 (Honda TypeR) with stage 4 clutch that chatters and used to sound like this but the sound disappeared..but chatter!:(

Hi guys I just recently got FX200 for my STI. Getting the same sound, shifting gears is no longer smooth, it grinds a lot when I'm racing...hell the thing even grind if I shift too far even stationary. Anyone figure out this issue yet?

and for a reason I am never able to shift to third as fast as I used to with the old OEM clutch....it is really no more drag racing after this upgrade...though it should be the whole freakin way I just dunno wt to do....though the grip is strong....the clutch is useless this way..
