That's a White Witch Moth, or Thysania Agrippina, and it's the largest moth we know of!! They can grow up to 14 inches wide in wingspan, so you found a huge one!

I really love how the kid didn't swat at it when it flew at her, and just seemed startled instead of scared. There seems to be a lot of respect for the moths and true delight at being around them. Seems really really wholesome.

I try to hold moths but I get so scared even though they don't bite or hurt you
Fun fact: My uncle made me believe for a long time that moths eat humans
Moths are so adorable and I would just hug them if they were big enough or if I was small enough x3
