Hair Transformation - Blonde to Warm Brunette - Step by Step

I’ve never done this before on my Channel. I finally coloring my hair darker! Going from blonde to brunette.  I show you my professional formula on how to achieve a smudged root and warm caramel brunette shade without the hair going muddy, which can happen sometimes going from blonde to brunette.

Formulations Used:

Root Smudge
2 oz of processing solution
+ 1 oz of 07M
+ 1 oz of 07N

All over Color
3 oz of processing solution
1 oz 07M
1 oz of 07N
1 oz of 07G
Processed for 20 minutes.

A small thing I really appreciate about this videos, Silvia: the amount of time between “so, let’s go for it” and the brush touching the hair lol! Hi Sylvia, I watched this video about five times to help me get up the courage to do this. I saw the new M series so I used 7m on the roots, pulled it all the way through the back and sides, then did the top and front last, combing it through to the ends before washing it out. It canceled any faded coppery tones I didn’t want and added an incredible depth to my color, it also muted any gray I have at the root/crown area. I’m absolutely sold on doing this in between permanent color to freshen up the tone without having to do everything every time, thank you!

Would you ever consider doing a video or series that people could send in photos of themselves. You could analyze and help suggest colors and cuts? I’m struggling with what do to with my hair. My amazing colorist is great, but tells me I can do whatever I want. I want to find what truly flatters me and “goes” with my undertone (which I also struggle with). Love the look and your content!

Shades EQ is the best! I use these on 99% of my clients and I love that since it’s a Demi-permanent color it lasts longer than a semi-permanent would but without the commitment and dullness of a permanent color. And the shine it gives the hair is a big plus!

Looks great. I thought you had to add pigment to blonde hair (red or copper) to go brunette. Does the 7G work as the pigment added? Thank you

I wish you went brunette and posted this two months ago. I had a horrible experience in May at my salon wanting to go more brunette. 😪 I told my stylist that I wanted to add some lowlights but leaving out many of my blonde pieces for contrast. Well, she barely left out any blonde and the combination of the brown she added next to my blonde left my hair 😫 In fact I work at an elementary school in the lunchroom and I had so many little kids comment on my hair. “what did you do to your hair?” “ Why did you spray paint your hair grey”? “ I like your grey hair”. I wanted to cry!! 😭
