It's hard to choose just 5 tools to introduce to a beginner, but here they are. What do you think I left out?

To those companies that were recommended, send this man something, and say thank you. Thanks for sharing, and love the production values. Well done.

that trim bar is known as a glaziers bar in canada. i dont know why. but its a very good delicate pry bar and nothing is better at scraping old dap off of walls, door casing etc. its earned a permanent place in my belt. the glue, man that was a game changer for me. i use another brand since its not so easy to get yours in canada but i love it. it speeds up installs alot.

Retractable pencil? That is neat. Never seen one until I seen you use it. Very cool.

Dude I love my laser for estimates. It's invaluable and the customer is always impressed when you pull it out. I ended up buying the green laser one with Bluetooth and sprung for the Bosch rechargeable battery for it. Great video as always, I have all those tools as well.

Most of my business is rehabbing old houses. My top 5 tools I am never without: tape measure, razor knife, 5-in-1, hammer, and speed square. Got tons more I always carry. Love your channel. Fyi, i prefer the dewalt tape measure. The fat max has failed me to many times. Always breaking them I switched to dewalt tape 6 years ago and my first one lasted 5 years.

I agree on the laser tape. I didn't think I'd use it but to do take offs and estimates it's priceless. Couple tools I use a bunch are a Swanson speed square or the Kreg multi mark. We frame, drywall, stain concrete, glass repair and trim so I have a ton of favorites. Great video as always

I bought one of those Bosch measures. I had a problem getting the laser to hit the distant wall in the right spot. I determined that the drywall mud was putting the measurer on an angle. To fix this, I cut a piece of 1/4" plywood EXACTLY 12" long. I put the plywood into the corner and then butt the measure to the plywood. Now the plywood eliminates the uneven drywall mudd problem, and I get a perfect measurement every time. I just have to remember to add 12 inches to my measurement. I did forget a couple of times.

Love the channel DFW, has taught me A LOT. Can you do a video(s) on how you cope and your methods? Thanks in advance.

Keep up the great work you are doing and soon nobody would be able to tell you that you can't make it somewhere (northeast, for example 😉). Thanks for sharing, love your channel.

Top 5? I might go with pencil, speed square, trim hammer, tape, and razor knife. haha, maybe its better to pick 15 or 20 tools. I like your channel! You have a nice and mello demeanor and you seem to like the work. Steady as she goes and you'll be very successful.

My first day on the job in a 40 man millwright shop back in the 90's I noticed everybody used Craftsman 25' tape measures. The reason why is that tape measures constantly got destroyed in that shop and all you had to do was take it back to Sears and they gave you a new one. ;-) I'm not sure if they still do this, but it was great only having to buy one tape measure.

Just to let you know that I have started my crown molding work after watching a lot of your video. Over time, I realize what was important and I got the CA Glue and activator, the Bosch laser measure because of watching your channel. I got a digital angle measure, too but I don't think I pick that up watching your videos. I also bought a BORA Miterix Angle Duplicating Miter Tool which is totally useless, and I agree the digital angle measure does the job much better.

The Fatmax tape is also made with an “auto lock” feature. It’s the same tape but with an added feature. Sold online or at Lowe’s. Check em out
