El Lago by Frederic Mompou, played on the PH Grand Piano

We invited Maya Irgalina to perform on our PH Grand Piano Legacy Edition that is located in a stunning penthouse apartment in London.

She says of the piece: "El Lago, by Catalan composer Frederic Mompou, was composed a whole century later, and was inspired by the pond on the hill of Montjuic in Barcelona. The composer uses very few textures, yet the melody he creates is hauntingly beautiful.

If I had to choose three words to describe this piece, they would be tenderness, intimacy, and nostalgia."

The PH Grand Piano Legacy Edition featured in this video was designed in 1930, and today is hand produced by PH Pianos under exclusive license from the Henningsen Family Estate.
