The game becomes 100% more challenging and imersive by not using GPS guidance at all. Deactivate the GPS guidance from gameplay, decativate the GPS screen and start planning your own trip using the big map before leaving, noting down the cities and the roads and highways numbers, and use the road signs for orientation. It's harder, but it's more challenging and way less boring.

I would say if you want to enjoy the game, just try to drive as realistically as possible. That's something what i have found out after a lot hours of playing.

I remember the first job i delivered in iceland and i just fell in love with this game all over again. promods have done incredible work. you should do a video on all the scenic routes you can take 🙂

I originally started with ETS2 but now have over 1, 200 hours of trucking on ATS. I like the variety of trucks better in ATS.

If jou would like to have the hardest challenge, just install mod "Hardh russia". This mod is very old and popular. Sometimes you should drive without GPS, sometimes - across the river or by wooden bridge. Heavy cargos (61 tonns), unreal hills and big prices should make this game unreal!

Headtracking is better than smooth interior camera.

I love how basically you said that everything you like is good and everything you don't like is boring xd

Best thing for interior is either VR if you can stand the motion sickness or a head or eye tracker; TrackIR 5 is the one I use and couldn't play without it now.

*My tipp is to use longer trailer combinations such as HCTs or Triples.* Driving my triple down the death road in TruckersMP before they closed it for doubles and triples was some next level shit where I could use all my experience to get to the destination without blocking anyone.

One more thing for low end pcs: start the game with OpenGL.
I have 15-30, mostly 25 fps with DirectX and 20-30, mostly 30 with OpenGL.
If you get some graphical glitches like black textures, mirrors with only one reflection color… change it back to DirectX so you don’t get that glitches (these glitches won’t happen if you play without mods)

Try the EAA map (South American Map). You will find some diference experiences, driving on night in some roads/cemeteries or try go from Manaus to Porto Velho, this Iceland river will be nothing after this trip.

it is also much more fun, when you play both games with a steering wheel and pedals 😉i did not regret buying one.

For exploring Iceland’s hidden roads and Easter eggs, I would get a mod car/truck to do so. I use a Benz X Class. Same for the hidden stuff on Spitsbergen/Svalbard.

I really love classic trucks but I'm more of the classic Japanese trucks like Hino Super Dolphine, and it only really maxed up to 80km/h only

You don't need a mod for the smooth camera. You can either bind to look left/right or look left/right slowly exactly as this mod does, comfortably with buttons on your wheel.

at the end of the day it just depends on the gamer i have currently 993 hours in ATS and 217.9 hours in ETS2 i use no traffic mods for both and only drive Front Bumper View #6 on keyboard while in game i change truck brands every 20k miles i like to rotate between both games playing a few hours here and there drive a couple loads now and then ill use cab mode view but only for like 2-3 minutes before i get annoyed by the view not gonna spend on a wheel style of play as a old race style gamer i just plug in my PS Controller to my PC and use a DS4 Windows program cause i dont like xbox controllers long live play station to each gamer out there just find what play style u like to use to most be it your own means or how this video is no choice is wrong at the end its just about enjoying the game in how you see fit to play it

Older truck has "less powerful engines"
IVECO Turbostar likes that :D
Anyway, good point with the classic trucks.
