I would be SO PISSED with that hairstylist... Once a hairstylist did that to me (cut my hair short even though I clearly told him no) and I straight up began crying in the chair. Needless to say he was VERY embarrassed and never did that again lol (in my defense I was like 9 if this happened today I'd just refuse to pay or something because clearly that is not the correct service I requested)

As a hairstylist, I am APPALLED that she didn't listen to you. 1. Regardless of your professional opinion, always listen to your clients. It's their hair. 2. You can always go shorter. 3. That's A LOT to "accidentally" cut off. 🙄

Honestly, you dont have to settle with a hair stylist. Theyre there to do their job, period. On another note, your hair looks mad cute. You have a pretty face and shorter hair in general opens up the face and bust area. Very nice :)

I used to go to this one hairstylist who was really controlling. I would try and ask for bangs, since I was insecure about my forehead, but she would do everything to convince me otherwise. I would also ask for a certain haircut and give her reference photos, but she would do something completely different based on what she liked on me. It’s not her hair and it’s my choice so I ended up going to another hairstylist. people need to respect other’s opinions on *their* hair.

What happened was the stylist distracted you with the chat chat chat so she could cut your hair how she wanted to instead of how you asked her to, and it *is* cute, but the fact that you don't like it is what actually matters in this situation. She knew what she was doing and was in the wrong.

Be careful if the hairstylist tries to persuade you for a different haircut/hairstyle--especially if it's a lot shorter than you want. Don't get into deep conversations with a new stylist either. You don't know these people until you've been to them for at least a year or more. Beauty salons are like an open mic in the town square, places for the worst gossip and you never know who is listening.

I had such long hair like it was at my thighs long, i asked specifically and made it SO clear that i only wanted to cut off a tiny bit, and she was like "yeah yeah okay! that's fine but i think it'd look better shorter" and i refused, she finally agreed and started cutting my hair. Girl finished and i saw my hair and it was at MY COLLARBONES. i was so upset and i've not been to a hairdresser for 2 years now, ive been growing my hair out ever since then and it's not even close to where it used to be, it's annoying that people think that THEY get to choose how YOU look, like it ain't your hair, your appearance, your choice so leave it and give the client what they want.

That wasn't an accident. She definitely did it on purpose. My mom's a hairstylist and the amount of times she sees that happen to people is ridiculous. I'm sorry that happened to you too.
