Mets better resign Alonso or it will alienate many. He’s a homegrown Met who is the face of the franchise along with Lindor. They almost signed inferior hitter Carlos Correa to a 12 year deal who wasn’t an original Mets draft pick or homegrown player yet they are bumbling around on extending Pete for 6-7 years. Also the Mets should extend Severino & Manaea as they’ve been excellent. They’re both still young vets who can help anchor the rotation & provide leadership to our top young pitching prospects like Christian Scott & Jose Butto. We also have electric young arms like Blade Tidwell & Brandon Sproat in the minors rising rapidly - both could join the rotation with Scott within the year. Having vets like Severino & Manaea to anchor the rotation along with ace Kodai Senga to help the young starters transition to the majors will be crucial.

Huge win though. We’ve struggled a bit of late & this .500 ball won’t do. The Braves are 3 games ahead of us & the NL West is similarly stacked like our division. The Dodgers, Padres & D’Backs are all fighting for the NL West division & the top 2 wild card positions as they all have better records than the Mets. We have to beat these tough teams along with division rivals & also not scuffle against bad teams like we have. Hopefully Alvarez can get it going because we need his power bat.

LFGM❕ Let’s Go Mets. Time to get out of this little funk & go on a tear for the stretch run.😁

If the pattern holds, the Mets will now feel over confident and lose today and then Thursday will be a dogfight to win the series and they’ll probably tighten up and blow it somehow. Probably pitching

Forget about the home run.. Pete Alonso came up 3 times with man on third base with less then one out and never came thru. And he always fails in those moments. Most his home runs come early and 1-0 load or 2-0 lead which has no impact on a game. Anypitcher can get Pete Alonso out when they have too. Either they strike him out or hit into double play. Don’t tell me about the home run. Pete is not worth it to break the bank. Let him go unless he comes cheap. I mean 3 times. Imagine if it was soso in that position he would get at least two in
