Good Review.
i have owned the HX400v for around 5 years and my wife has the Canon sx70. Both are in my opinion very good super zoom cameras. The electronic view finder on the canon is alot better then on the sony. A few drawbacks of the sony for me would be the lack of a touch screen and higher res view finder, otherwise i really enjoy the sony and its ergonomics for me are just perfect. Alos because it has a large front lens its looks bigger and bolder compared to the canon sx 70. And the zoom ring / focus ring makes for a great addition to slower zoom or manual focus. i would rate the Sony HX400v a solid 8/10 for its age and price bracket.

Reviews for the average joe...like me. Plenty of good info without talking down to the viewer. Keep up the good work. A loyal subscriber.

Thank you for this and your other videos! I've owned this camera for a while now and I've noticed that you can take quite good pictures with it.

12/8/23 Good video I own Sony DSC-H 200V which came out before the 400v it has many of the features, the GPS is very accurate to location of photo taken with google maps, but you can turn it off under settings if needed to extend battery life for shooting. I would suggest getting extra batteries due to about 300 per charge, along with shutting off camera between camera shot if possible. What I like about the Sony bridge camera is the large zoom range for multi types of subject matter, i do wish it had a bigger sensor even though the jpegs are quite good at 20 megs. I do wish there was a RAW setting to adjust images post production. I like that the Sony Cyber-shot has the same look and feel of Sony other high end digital camera along with the tech that keeps the images recorded or videos very sharp, color quality good, detail images that can compete with today's cameras at a level for most hobbyist, or advanced camera users.

50x times zoom!!!! LOL😋😋 ... Much much more.
I bought this camera just for shooting some nice moon pics, I just say it is capable of 400x zoom!! With digital zoom and the right settings
A good hint from Sony is in the name' HX400'..

Now you guys got a whole new option to explore without the expense of a new
Regards Passie 😀😀

I use mine on vacation. It works wonderful, is light and the battery lasts a long time. I grab it instead of my A7R2.

Thank you for making these videos on older superzooms. I have watched all your reviews on them and have zero-ed in on either the Sony HX400v or the Canon SX70. THe differenc ein zoom range is negligible to me between these 2. The 4k video is a bonus but not must-have for me. If image quality and focusing capabilities are my priorities, which one of these would you suggest? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the video! I have been using this camera (model without GPS) for almost 8 years. Since its appearance on the market. Excellent functionality and the ability to purchase an app for the camera. But! This is a slightly soapy drawing... Which you can't get rid of. Neither in the photo, nor in the video. Especially on zoom. I watched many examples of videos on YouTube and the same picture is everywhere. Obviously, this is a problem with all amateur superzooms. But progress does not stand still and I had to abandon this camera. Although, in general, I had good impressions of this Sony.

This sounds like a camera I’m looking for but I’m not sure. I need something with a big zoom that could be used at night, it would good if the stars could be seen in video. This sensor may not be big enough, do you think I could use this?

Great review! I have owned this camera for several years now and still loving it. Question - the indoor still shots starting at the 10:09 mark, what shooting mode were you using and are they handheld shots? Thanks

For me, the best digital camera of all time. Just be easy with the zoom or else the stabilizer will be damaged and the infamous error E 62 10 will appear, making the whole camera inoperable and needing a lens replacement. Great review!

I own a HX400 and I was searching for a modern alternative but... there isn't, right? HX400 is still the best one with this zoom, right?

Great review as always. You honestly make the best videos with great engaging content.
Also, I bought an FZ300 based on your previous video and am wondering if it's worth buying an RX10 iv. Is it really a substantial upgrade in terms of image quality?

I still have my 12 year old Sony HX100V and the image quality is similar to the HX400V

Hi, really love your reviews. Comparing the Lumix FZ300 and Sony Hx400v, is there a clear winner for travel and low light photography in your opinion?

Hi👋I love all your videos, thank you for all. Do you think Sony cx405 camcorder or HX400v will be better for air shows? I tried Panasonic V180 for a short time period so couldn’t be sure about camcorders. 10x or max. 20x is enough for me but couldnt be sure about using hx400 without a tripod.
