It reminds me of what my Nana told me when my Grandad, her best friend and husband since 1955, passed in 2018.

Something along the lines of “My dear Jay, don’t worry about the negative things and thoughts too much, Grandad will always be with you in here (her hand on my heart then pointed to my head) no matter what. He’ll always know how much you love him.”

The same has rung true since he, in 2018, and she, in 2019, passed.

They passed one year, almost a month apart.

I miss them every day; I’m afraid I’ll forget what they sounded like one day. They were, are, and will forever be my best friends and most cherished souls in this world. Almost every good memory I have is with them.

My birth parents, as I call them, were abusive resulting in DID and a multitude of other things.

My GranNana (Grandad and Nana) pulled me out of the darkness and into the light.

I love you and always will.
