I think when you are 96 it isn’t anyone’s business what you do for Christmas except your own. Bless her.

Bless the Queen. She is definitely setting a good example. These are unprecedented times and she is showing us that we all should do what protects our fellow man and ourselves, even if it is not the popular choice. Have a safe and blessed holiday season. Love from the U.S.

She has a great deal of wisdom to do whatever she needs to do. After all she lost her husband just months ago. She has every need to express her grief as she will. God bless and protect her. Susan in iowa.

Her Majesty has accomplished and done so much. Given her age, she should take all the rest she needs. Happy Christmas!

She's a queen and she did her job by not going there she says others to be careful. Its a great thing she did, a way to explain it is best when you do it yourself.
She's a living legend, i wish i could meet her one day.

Queen Elizabeth is an international treasure. I prefer she care for herself and support her in that decision

Not having all of the usual events to attend and host must have made her feel Philip's absence more strongly. My deepest sympathy and admiration go out to her.

Very intelligent and setting an example. We all know it must be very difficult for her not to have her Family with her at Christmas. AND especially as this is her first Holiday without her beloved .

Our Majesty is very practical. With the new influx of the Covid-19 virus rumbling through all our lives, it seems to be a very sensible thing for her to stay at Windsor. As much as I know she'd truly love to be at Sandringham for the holiday festivities, she is safest at Windsor. Setting a wonderful example for all!

HM knows what's best for her. However, it's possible that as the holiday was arriving, she realized she didn't want to be around everybody else if Prince Philip wasn't around. However, I'm sure the family will be dropping in over the holidays so HM won't be alone.

I don’t know which is worse, missing Philip at the holidays or worrying about the virus and her people. The Queen will get plenty of prayers from me this season.

Sad for her but wise. Perhaps she can come up with another party later on in the Spring for her family.
