Trump authorizes sanctions against Turkey

CNBC's Eamon Javers reports that President Trump has authorized sanctions against Turkey over its actions in Syria against the Kurdish people.

This is not sanctions against Turkey. This is not stick. It' is a carrot that dangling in front of a horse that take the wrong way.

Turkey always did what needed to be done. Neither the current deafening noise in the main foreign media nor sanctions nor Turkey’s determination is new. The history is full of similar examples.

This is great news. I was reluctant to support POTUS over troop withdrawal but at the time I did not consider economic sanctions.

US troops would have stopped Turkey as a trip wire (which also exists in S. Korea) while economic actions will have little effect and will not bring back the lives of people lost. Destroying Turkey's economy is a pipe dream.

I think turkey will leave nato or they'll be asked to leave. it's sad the way things are going on the world it seems to have a very unsettled feel compared to 20yrs ago. my comment by the way is just a personal opinion I could be completely wrong.
