Hi guys great to see two Aussies REPAIRING rather than discarding gear.
The USB cable is a good example, get more life out of it.
I keep a collection of bad USB cables, usually its the small end that dies. I get some female USB and turn the cable into extension or power isolation cables.
I do industrial electronics and even though its safe to direct connect USB, I find a power isolation, just the +5V open circuit has help in some on site, noisy environment, industrial locations.
I have come across an adhesive called E8000, that may interest you, its on most sites, Banggood, Aliexpress.
It is like a polystyrene glue, a very good dispensing cap and not a quick dry.
