The Power of Aloha Aina

In the Native Hawaiian tradition, kalo is the plant that directly connects us with the land, and embodies the spirit of aloha aina. We recently experienced this first hand, when Bank of Hawaii employees volunteered with Native Hawaiian nonprofit Papahana Kuaola, cleaning out taro lo‘i, clearing trails and propagating indigenous plant species. We were so inspired by the work that Papahana Kuaola is doing that we wanted to learn more about the values that drive them.
