This is definetely the other way around.

Toby created the original megalovania back in 2008, remixed it for homestuck (which you should give a chance) in 2011 and finally on undertale in 2015

I think with an over 100 song soundtrack for a game composed by a singular dude, even with repeated leitmotifs being intentional, it’d be difficult to not include some similar sequences that actually have no intention of correlating
