Q: Once we come through this, if more people work from home more regularly, use the internet more, putting more pressure on data centres, and using more domestic energy, is that a bad thing?



A: This is a good question! Data centres use a lot of energy and also generate heat which doesn’t help climate effects. The only solution is to ensure smart energy efficient technology and renewables are used rather than fossil energy. This is already happening in certain centres running on wind or solar.
