Starbase Ship Building Tutorial: Episode 6 Mining Lasers

In this video we take a look at mining lasers and briefly go over what they do, how they function, and how to set one up. I also include a some YOLOL to get your lasers turning, but will cover more scripts and ways to make your lasers more efficient in the upcoming YOLOL tutorials.

If you want to accomplish opposite turning without YOLOL, you can simply invert the min and max rotation values (change the 180 to -180, and so on).

Hey, this is the first video I've seen of yours, but like someone else said, the brief length focusing on one topic is great. I'll definitely be checking out more.

I haven't tested this, and this is all new to me, but one thing I read on another discussion is that if you set the second turret rotation to the same 'TurretR' name, but change its max rotation to -180 and min rotation to 180, it will behave inversely to the other one without needing YOLOL. Again, I have not tested it yet, but it sounds like it should work.

Thank you for taking your time and putting up some awesome videos. Though by little I'm getting more comfortable on setting up my ship in design build mode. I use blueprint prebuilt chips and take them apart to figure out how to set up the Yolol chips. And the functions

Perfect timing. I was just about to add these, again using nacelles so 4 of them can focus down a 'roid. Do you know the correct ratio of collectors to miners? One tutorial I would like to see, is something about creating nicer aethetics. I've really struggled plating up things that aren't big 'ol boxes. Probably somewhere down the line, of course.

Can we get something about the advanced cradle? As i have seen them but .. well no one i know has got it to work and even built properly i think. I could not recall if you talked about it on this but i guess not..

love the videos so far! just having trouble getting the script to work: i've tried it multiple ways but no matter how i put it (spaces or no spaces) it doesn't get them to turn opposite directions...they are always turning same :'(

my turntable is receiving the output from the slider but it doesnt actually turn the laser, it fires ok however
