4 years after writing this comment i eventually bought an electric piano.
I can now play this song.
Im not 100% fluent yet. But im almost there.
I am really enjoying learning the piano, i find it very challenging, but i do the work and i pracrice practice practice, and can see a big improvement in my playing.
I am playing more loose and fluid, and dont need to watch my hands as much as i did.
This is a fantastic song to learn, and is one of the first songs i learned.
White ladder is an album my wife and i used to play when we first started going out together.
Great album. And this is a fantastic song.

Simple chords yes, but there is nothing simple about evoking such emotion in a piece of music such as this. It it's genius at work. This is probably the best love song ever written.

I'm an Australian and first came across this song on the In Flight Entertainment on a British Airways flight from Tel Aviv to London. Had never heard of David Gray before that and I can remember pressing repeat about 20 times. 5 years on and I can still remember the feelings I felt as I listened to this emotional ballad.
