Iv never seen someone fit a mortice lock using door clamps.

I prefer to knock out locks when doors are swinging so that the sawdust Is easier to clear plus you can production line it.

Swinging all the doors then going through marking all the locks handle and key positions.
then roughing out the locks with a gurt drill similar to the way your doin it now but with an auger bit ideally then you can use the auger bit to assist in the clear out.

Then clearing out the lock holes with a chisel then sit the locks in and centre holes drilled. screwed back and then cut around with a knife. Remove the lock and finish with a freehand router and chissle.

I have seen specialist lockfitters come in with big routers, extended bits and mega jigs on commercial jobs. Maybe hotels or something like that can't remember.

The trend skeleton hinge jig is the dog's danglies. 🙌

Not that the screw holes matter cause they are easily filled, but have uou ever tried using tape and CA glue to hold the jig?
