In need of a shutter release cable for your Mamiya 645 Super/Pro/Pro TL? Getting one on Ebay is going to cost you the same amount as a decent 35mm film camera with lens. I suggest you just build one yourself.

Here’s an instructional video for making your own adapter. I am using Jep Kampardella’s design. It’s an easy build. You just have to find the parts I used in the vid.

Thanks to Jep Kampardella for the STL file of the shoe mount casing.

Music is from Erik Jackson. I bought a few of his albums on Bandcamp. You should go check out the ‘Almost Dark’ album.

Hey man

I've been pulling my head on this for a couple of weeks now. I've crimped countless dupont cables TRYING to get my super to fire. I ended up ordering pre-crimped 1-pin dupont cables because I assumed my crimps were bad. I got my camera to fire a couple of times by just touching the wires, but it was inconsistent, but it meant it couldn't be my micro switch, or my soldering that attached the wires to the switch points.

Fast forward to today, and late night boredom - I realized when trying to fire the camera with loose wire ends, it fires when pin 1-2 is hit simultaneously and pin 3 is hit alone. Meaning my Super only fires when the C, COM or Continuous signal hits pin 1-2 in the camera, and NO, Normally Open signal hits pin 3. Now every single crimp i made works. I'm by no means good with wires and such, so some people might have known this already, but i felt like posting this either way incase anyone else would struggle in the future. I know the original creator suggested using 4 wires, but I never knew WHERE he meant you should place them, i just figured he meant for stability and not that It actually matters functionally. My adapter now works using 3 cables instead of 2 and I'm so relieved. Thank you for a great instructional video, and thank you Jep Kampardella for the files and design!!

please build one of them for me. Let me know if it's good for you and we'll decide a suitable price.

Very nice work. I have a number of Mamiya 645 series cameras. I also have all of the parts and a number of 3d printers along with Freecad. I may try your suggestion. I am working on the battery box for the M645 power winder. All I need now is the electrical hardware or to remove it from some other item that is now being used.
