Helite Turtle 2 Air Vest

With 50 years of riding experience and being a highly qualified advanced rider, why I have now decided to invest in a AirVest.

Good video Mick. Gosh that must have been absolutely horrific for you. I purchased the 1st version last year. Surprised how quickly you get used to strapping yourself in. I wondered if it would affect how I ride, but a few mins later I’d forgotten I’d even got it on. As you state even with training we have to expect the unexpected and be prepared for the worst. I also have IAM and RoSPA Test passes and this year was hoping to try for my masters this year. All the best, stay safe Richard

I too wear a Helite, both the tethered version and the new electronic one. Like most people, we all move to products when we experience a crash or witness one. I reviewed both vests for Web Bike World and am currently testing the Alpinestars TechAir 3 and 5 vests. I state in my reviews that if you were/are/soon to be a law enforcement officer and the department did not require you to wear a second chance bulletproof vest, would you? I know the answer.

Great review, I have been thinking about inflatable protection for some time ( a bit like thinking about an electric car!) so haven't yet done anything
yet, so your words have moved me forward ! Just a quick question, what is the back thickness uninflated and do you keep a standard back protector in your jacket as well ?

Great review, thank you. How do you find the size in comparison to the size chart provided by Helite on their website. Im looking at getting one of these, but the nearest supplier is miles away from where i live, so it's difficult for me to try before buying.I'vee read a lot of customer reviews who recommend buying a slightly smaller size than the size chart indicates. The Helite size chart indicates i should be a XL L

HI just come across your review as i'm looking into getting one of these myself wonder if i could just ask you a couple of questions as you have owned it for a while

1. does it stop much of the air flow as during the summer months i wear a mesh jacket & suspect it may stop air flow through the jacket

2. are you able to still stand up on the pegs when riding as your attached to the bike
