Here is the entire line of Global Chef knives.

Global Knives have two most innovative features - their edge and the way they are balanced. The most important feature of any knife is its edge. The blade is made from one of the finest steels- Cromova 18 stainless steel. This special steel is ice-tempered and hardened to a Rockwell Hardness of 56-58, which remains razor sharp longer than any other steel and resists rust, stains and corrosion. The blade edge is ground on both sides of the blade like western style blades; however the edge is ground to a straight point rather than a beveled edge which results in a razor sharp edge that will stay sharper longer. To balance the blade, all Global knives have a unique hollow handle filled with the right amount of sand to create the perfect balance. Global knives are truly unique. Made in Japan.

Whit the years of use the point where the edge is welded with the handle rust and the line is visible. The knife can brake in this point too if you bend it by pressing something.

I have one SAI santoku. I'd say not super sharp out of the box, BUT it is a super balance knife and easy to sharpen.

I have global G2 clasisic 5 year what you thing is better Sai or Ni chef knife, why sai look little like santoku i dont like santoku

I just bought a global g2 chef knife. I see your knife have writing in the front of the knife like this:
GLOBAL
Cromoya 18 stainless steel
G-2 Yoshikin Japan.

But my G2 only have writing like this in the front:
GLOBAL
Molybdenum/ vanadium steel.

And in the back (other side of the blade) it say:
YOSHIKIN
Made in Japan.

Did I received a real global knife but an old stok/ model or maybe I received a FAKE global knife? Please help

I don't get the point of lifetime warranty, I went and checked just recently because one of my globals has a pretty big chip in it, granted its about 20 years old lol. but still.. and website basically says it doesn't cover jackshit, I mean do they need to snap in half cutting a tomato or something? it sucks because the chip is further down and its one of my chefs knives

Ryky, can yo explain please how it is possible for a steel rated 56-58 HRC (rather soft steel, on a lower side of the scale ) to "stay sharp longer than any other steel"? Really, man? Does it has better edge retention than harder steels, like ZDP189, SG2, HAP40, Aogami Super? Even the most average VG10 is rated 60-61... So, how is it possible? And if not - why is it necessary to blatantly lie in order to sell a product? There are many advantages I can see in Global knives, enge retention is just not one of them. Why lie? Even if they gave you the text, you always can say "I care about my name, I will not openly lie to people", and it will be 100% respected. I like your channel, but you just lost me on this one...

This is blatant advertorial crap. ..so disappointed. The voice over is so pre-hearsed. As we get more sophisticated as consumers, this rubbish becomes clearer.
