Great message Chauncey ! I’m going for my Loan Officer’s exam soon and also wanted to get my license in Real Estate.
I have a very strong sales/ marketing background. Is very true in this type of business you have to think out of the box, and educate yourself by reading books and having a plan. I used to work for an Insurance company and came across many brilliant people with impressive education background & resumes, within 3 months they were out!!! All because they didn’t have people skills and not strong in sales. For my experience in the sales business you need the following:
1. People Skills
2. Compassion
3. Good Listener
4. You care about your prospects interest.

People do feel your energy and they will know if you just want to sell them. What I use to do to stand out from the crowd. Every time I would sit down with my prospects I will take notes about them & their family. So I will always sent them a birthday or Anniversary card. That’s one of the many things I did.

Girl I went in full time with 2, 500 in the bank and I wish I would of saw this video prior to I didnt get a check till 6 months later😱. I had a listing 5 months in but my 1st check was from a buyer. It is such a difficult job but so rewarding when you do connect and get clients you can help.

I'm a waitress and talk to all of my tables that will listen about my real estate journey and I swear I blush every time they say "I would buy a house with you". I'm done with all of my classes. Now just keep hitting a brick wall with expenses since I have 3 kids to take care of but I am slowly but surely getting there! Aiming to get my exam scheduled in the next month. I appreciate all that you share on here. It has helped me a lot!

I resonate so much with your story because this is my exact situation right now with buying a house vs spending on a wedding, full time job while planning to do real estate part time, getting into real estate to save fees when we buy our rental properties, and natural inclination to talk about remodeling with friends and family and they ask if im an agent (soon ill be in approx 10 days). Your channel is exaclty what most first time agents need!

Should I finish my engineering degree and save up some funds first? I saved up $20k with my day job but I'd like to get a degree while I still qualify for financial aid. Have you ever seen computer science help real estate? Thank you.

I am very interested in real estate and would like to get a license to sell to friends and family on the side, but I didn't know if part time real estate was a good idea because it seems like somewhat of an open schedule is necessary even part time. Im glad to hear you had the same idea!

OMG! you literally sound just like me! I have an account management background in marketing as well and I am thinking about getting into real estate as well due to the horrible experience my husband and I had with our agent where we were sending her all the houses she literally did none of the work except for letting us in to the homes of course lol but the house we are in we found ourselves and she was too shy o working out deals we definitely had to coach her on what to say and why. Your video is a sign for me to stop thinking about and just do it! thank you for sharing your experience

i’m 22 and interested in real east state. however, i’m wondering if there’s a good job to start out in real estate without rushing to get licensed. i certainly don’t have start up money right now but i’m hoping i’ll be able to make more money in another job while learning about the field.
