How do you add a bleed to a printed document? This short video shows you how to use Adobe Indesign to add bleeds, crop marks and safe areas. Adding bleeds allows your image or colored background to print all the way to the edge of the sheet. If you connect your crop marks with a ruler, it shows you exactly where your card will get trimmed. Adding a safe area prevents images from being too close to the edge of the sheet, or from getting cut off. Some of the edge of the paper is always lost when an item is trimmed to size, and this is why it's important to add a bleed to your print file.
