I like that idea of whether Jane would have preferred a husband and kids or her novels- she could have been like Gaskell and had both I suppose 🤔. I had no idea she’d even come close to being engaged- clearly I need to read the Tomalin book. Have a great weekend Kelly!

Obviously it is Jane not the characters for me. I am saving the Tomalin for next July. I am glad Ayesha at Last was satisfying. I will look out for that too.

Great video Kelly! Will go and buy Tomalin tomorrow. Looking forward to your verdict on the Janeites.

Put me down for wanting to hang out with Jane Austen and not her characters. I want to know about her life and what she was like. We know about her characters. The movie "Miss Austen Regrets" kind of centers on the question of what Austen would have preferred her life to be.

please count me in for the giveaway! I am a new sub and have really enjoyed watching your videos. I have a copy of Longbourne sitting on my shelf, and you’ve inspired me to pick it up next. 😊
